When you call Statewide Legal Services you will first speak with a Screener. The Screener will ask you about your family income. Statewide Legal Services can only help people of very low income. The Screener will also ask you for other information such as your address, phone number, etc. Then, you will be transferred to the next available Advocate. The Advocate is a lawyer or trained paralegal who will talk to you about your legal problem.

We receive a lot of calls a day and you will probably have to wait on the telephone for an Advocate to become available to talk to you. Please be patient.
