Our Library has many entries. To help you find the entries most helpful to you, keep in mind the following guidelines. The "Keywords" are the words that you type in to the search box.
Tip #1:
The search looks for the keyword(s) you have entered in the search box in the title of documents, on the home page of web sites, and in this web site's keyword list.Tip #2:
If you use more than one word in your search, the keyword search looks for documents with any of the words you have listed.Tip #3:
Use + (a "plus" symbol) between words to refine your search. For example: home+buying+guide will return more specific results than home buying guide. You can also use quotation marks around phrases, for example: "home buying guide" to search for that exact phrase.Tip #4:
The keyword search is not case dependent - "HOUSING" and "housing" will return the same results.Tip #5:
Try using just a few key words, not an entire sentence. Put in "prescription drugs" instead of "I want to find out if I am eligible for help paying for my prescription drugs."Tip #6:
Common words like "law" or "home" are more likely to bring back irrelevant information. Use "Protection from Abuse" rather than "Protection from Abuse Law." Very common words like "from" and "and" are ignored by the search engine.Tip #7:
If your search doesn't give you the information you are looking for, try changing some of the words. Think about other ways to say what the problem is.Tip #8:
If the Search Engine just doesn't help answer your question, try looking on a national legal search engine like FindLaw.
